My personal favorite is Jeanette because I can relate to her, I suppose you could say that the chipettes aren't the original chipmunks, so if I had to choose an actual chipmunk it would be Simon, but in the 1960's series its definitely Theodore.
I know we weren't meaning to, but we moved off the subject of the thread. Let's try and stay on topic. We can always create another thread for favorite scene or whatnot. Let's try to keep everything as organized as we can from the beginning.
Its actually kind of funny because when I was on my Psychology kick (actually still on it) I went around doing Meyers Briggs things and found that Jeanette had the same personality type as me (INFP) , I've always liked her because I just have always felt... I don't know, like her I guess, I suppose you could say my favorite characters are like me XD.
So basically all the main chipmunks and chipettes. And, yeah in the live action movies, they do look like real life little chipmunks. I guess that's cause it's live action and they somehow create realistic chipmunks, probably from a green screen or something.
I don't believe I have a set favorite, I enjoy the show the most out of everything. I find Alvin the most interesting, all rounded character by far in the franchise, with consistent visual design, but I'm not sure if appreciating the balance of his character flaws, character positives, and depth would be considered having a "favorite". I just know a darn good character. I'll go with him on that account since it's natural that I would choose who I perceive as the most dynamic regardless. I know my least favorite for the males is Theodore though. I love him, but I can't connect with him.
As for The Chipettes, I prefer The Chipmunks over them in general. I'm a girl, so you would think they'd be before them, but I don't know what it is...there's something missing. I didn't cry or got upset or cared whether they would be in the fourth movie at any rate. I didn't see the big deal. The franchise is about Dave, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, first and foremost. I get enough of them shoehorning themselves in the music anyway.
If I had to pick out of the girls, it's either Jeanette or Eleanor. I enjoyed Eleanor more in the 80s series, yet I'm not sure so much in ALVINNN!!!. There hasn't been a lot of her for me to set an opinion. So it's mainly Jeanette.
I know this is an old thread but these are my favorite chipmunks (well this is how I rank them on my like list):
Elanore (not really my favorite but I like her anyway.)
I'm debating between Alvin and Simon because I loved Alvin ever since I was a toddler when I first started watching Alvin and the Chipmunks, the 1980s series. Alvin has been my most favorite of all the chipmunks. I also didn't like Simon and thought he was mean and not as cute, I think he was my least favorite. Now I like Simon, because he's the smart and mature one and doesn't get in that much trouble. I still like Alvin but being an older, smarter person than I was 29 years ago, okay I'm not that much smarter, Alvin can get under my skin.
So if I had to choose between Alvin and Simon, well back then I would have picked Alvin and then probably would have found out that was a big mistake! So now I think I take Simon. Of if I could choose two out of the three, I'd either pick Simon and Theodore, or Simon and Brittany (I'd have picked Jannette since I think she and Simon make a good couple but to be honest with myself and everyone else, I love Brittany, I don't see Janette or Elanore replacing her as my favorite, that is unless Britanny starts acting a lot more like Alvin!
Don't worry, I like Alvin, don't hate him, but I'm not sure I can trust him.
My favorite character definitely Simon. He's smart one, reasonable and calm (but honestly I'm just melt when he gets mad...)), I love his sarcastic comments to Alvin, he's quite brave and confident, he's serious, he's caring, he loves his brothers and forever stand for them. I like his style and exterior in ALVINNN!!! series and films, he is so sweet! I can say that I am so like Simon although I'm a girl. But we're really alike, and because of that I love him even more!)
