The Chipmunks Go to Washington is an episode of the Alvin and the Chipmunks series.

Vacationing on Mount Placid, the gang discovers a bald eagle's nest is threatened by a condominium development. Hoping to prevent the destruction of the endangered species, they rush to Washington, D.C. and trick the Secret Service in order to gain entry into the White House. They leave the President a note when they can't find him. Hoping to get more support for the cause, Alvin has Dave dress as an eagle and the group hosts a music benefit with footage Eleanor took. Just when they feel nothing more can be done, the Secret Service arrives and takes Alvin to the President who decides to make Mount Placid a federal park.

  • The title is a parody of the 1939 film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
