The Chipmunks is the changed name of the show Alvin and the Chipmunks for seasons 6 and 7 as a result of The Chipettes becoming main characters. It is an American animated television series to feature the singing characters Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Chipettes, aired on 1983 to 1999, produced by Bagdasarian Productions in association with Ruby-Spears Productions (1983-1988), DIC Entertainment (1988-1990), Nelvana Limited (1991-1994), CINAR (1994-1996) and HIT Enterainment Plc (1996-1999), in 1990 the show switched titles again to The Chipmunks Go to the Movies, which according to TV.com it is also the eighth and last season of the series.
