Silent Night (Special Version)

"Silent Night" is a traditional Christmas carol that is covered by a group of carolers (while Alvin plays his harmonica) in the 1981 special A Chipmunk Christmas. An extended version of the song, featuring dialogue by The Chipmunks and Santa Claus, is also included in the soundtrack A Chipmunk Christmas. The song also found in the book Alvin and the Chipmunks: A Chipmunk Christmas: With Sound and Music.

The Chipmunks-Silent Night

Carolers:
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Santa Claus:
Just then Dave walked over to Alvin.
It seemed like he had gotten a call from Tommy's mother saying that Alvin's harmonica had worked wonders for Tommy.
The doctor said it was a miracle!
Little Tommy was going to be okay.

Alvin:
And Dave apologized to me for thinking I'd lost the Spirit of Christmas.

Theodore:
He did not.

Alvin:
Did too.

Theodore:
Did not.

Alvin:
Did too.

Simon:
Actually Alvin, what Dave said was that he was very proud of you and he wished that you had told him the truth from the beginning.

Alvin:
Well, that's the same as an apology.

Theodore:
Is not.

Alvin:
Is too.

Theodore:
Is not.

Santa Claus:
Boys, boys, boys.

On their way to Carnegie Hall, the boys were in great spirits and as they rode through the snow-filled streets in a handsome cab they sang a wonderful song.
