Congrats on being promoted to the content moderator position. You'll officially have the tools shortly.
The main tools you now have are listed on the moderators page. Keep in mind the wiki's policies when using these tools (they shouldn't be used just to use them as you might know). There are also links on the linked page above on how to un/delete and un/protect. Generally pages are only deleted if they are vandalism/spam. Protection should be used conservatively and must have a good reason in order to protect a page. A single bad edit isn't usually a good reason to protect a page.
Renaming pages/files (as well as suppressing redirects) can have many, many negative consequences if done incorrectly. You need to use Special:WhatLinksHere every time you consider moving something and, before you do, you need to make sure no links are listed there (normally you can find a link to this special page in "My Tools" in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen). Files do not need a redirect when renamed (unless they are used on many pages). Articles that are old and have had that name for a long time (or the name is quite different) should have a redirect. If a file is highly used, don't rename it for a minor reason.
If you use these tools, be sure to provide a detailed reason as to why you are doing so.
Other tools include Rollback, which you're familiar with, as well as patrolled edits. This means that your edits will not be marked with a red '!' on Special:Recentchanges. These edits are generally ones that inform a user with tools that this edit should be looked into just to make sure it's a good edit. You can also mark them as patrolled (something that's not easy to explain because it's not always consistent). Doing so will just remove the exclamation.
You should be able to use the replacing videos video to show you around that bug.
If you need help or are unsure of when to use one of your tools please do let me know and I'll assist.
I just created a new song maintenance category you may be interested in: Missing Versions. Some of these songs are missing versions from the 80s series. I'm going to be adding the link to the right rail on Special:WikiActivity as well.
Yes I am interested. Once I've fnished ckecking the 80's series songs we have pages for to make sure the lyrics are correct (only have season 8 left) I'll see what other songs need adding to the list and let you know which of those are online.
I noticed the images you uploaded. I went ahead and rotated and cropped them for you as well as replaced them over the existing files (maintaining the file history and makes for no extra work on articles). A few of the images looked a little off (this one I added a little saturation to closer match the front cover). The one I'm most concerned with is this one as it still looks too gray even with a little extra saturation (especially compared to the previous). This can't be what the cover really looks like?
Only those images I thought were most off were added to the wish list. Now seeing the correct color for the Alvin and the Chipettes VHS front cover, I just wanted to verify whether or not the back cover is correct in terms of its color.
If you haven't seen yet you can find all the VHS covers on the wiki here and the DVD covers here.
Hey there! A number of months ago I informed you of your opportunity to become a council member and today I'd like to ask you if you are interested in a position in the body. We are down a couple members and you seem like a great addition for the wiki. You can read more on the council and it's purpose here, if you haven't already. Hope to hear from you.
Congratulations, you are now a member of the Council of Chipmunks! As such your primary responsibilities would be to stay active (I generally recommend doing something on the wiki at least once a week, the more the better), be a role model in the edits you make and the discussions you take part in, and participate in Council matters (you can quickly navigate to the Council page by clicking the Council of Chipmunks usertag on your profile). You will also be given the rollback tool, which allows you to quickly revert a user's edits (extremely helpful if someone has made multiple destructive edits to a page). Please note that this tool is only intended for obvious spam or vandalism to articles. Do not use it simply because you disagree with an edit; always edit normally with a descriptive edit summary in these cases.
I'd expect nothing less. Speaking of which, one reason I sought a nomination for you is another Council discussion I wanted to include another Council member in. You can find that one here.
Your profile tag will be added a day or two after the above discussion (JS changes have to be approved by Fandom for security reasons). One other thing, do you mind adding a little bit to your user page for the community? You don't have to be overly detailed or anything, just something to tell everyone a little about yourself (can be strictly Chipmunks-based), thanks.
As stated in our current policy, I am to inform new active users of the future opportunities available to them if they continue to be active over an extended period. If you continue to be an active user and beneficial editor, there is a chance in the future that council will vote you in as a member; giving you the rollback tool and acceptance as a senior editor. If you were to accept this offer, you will be required to continue being active, be a role model while editing, and vote in council matters. If you ever have questions regarding this position, feel free to send me a message. Keep up the good work!
