Maltese Chipmunk is an episode of The Chipmunks series.
Alvin has a dream that he is a detective from the 1940s. He is on a case to find a famous rich girl named Brittany. Dave plays a police lieutenant who suspects Alvin kidnapped her, as one of his business cards was found in Brittany's limousine (earlier having been blown all over town by mistake). Brittany is finally found working as a nightclub singer, and Dave admits he has always been jealous of Alvin's detective skills. Alvin awakes in the theatre, admitting the detective was the best role.
- The title is a spoof of the 1931 film and 1941 remake The Maltese Falcon, the remake starring Humphrey Bogart.
- Who Framed Dirk Strangle? is a spoof of the 1988 film title Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.
- Alvin's dream ends when he says to Dave "This could be the start of a beautiful friendship". This parodies the ending of another Humphrey Bogart film, Casablanca.
- As of right now, this episode isn't available in English.
