Lyrics

The Chipmunks:
Hut two three four
Hut two three four
Hut two three four
Hut two three

Dave:
How come you boys are wearing those French hats and marching around like that?

Alvin:
Pardon?

Dave:
Pardon?!

Alvin:
Oui, oui monsieur. That's French, parlez vous a vou le vou?

The Chipmunks:
Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai
Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai

Alvin:
Je te plumerai la tête
Je te plumerai la tête
Et la tête

Simon:
Et la tête

Alvin:
Ohhh!

Dave:
ALVINNN!!!

Alvin:
Ohhh!

The Chipmunks:
Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai
Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai

Dave:
That sounds good boys, but I'm sorry I can't understand what your saying.
Can you sing it in English?

The Chipmunks:
Can we sing it in English?!

If you love me, tell me that you love me
If you don't please tell me that you do
If you love me, tell me that you love me
If you don't please tell me that you do

Alvin:
Tell me that you love me true
Tell me that you really do
Do do do

Simon:
Love me true

Alvin:
Ahhhhh!

Dave:
ALVINNN!!!

Alvin:
Ohhhhh!

The Chipmunks:
If you love me, tell me that you love me
If you don't please tell me that you do
If you love me, tell me that you love me
If you don't please tell me that you do

Hut two three four
Hut two three four (by the right flank)
Hut two three four (huh!)
Hut two three four (by the left flank)
Hut two three four (huh!)
Hut two three four (to the rear, huh!)

Trivia

  • While the Chipmunks say the lyrics to the song in English translate to "If you love me Tell me that you love me, If you don't please tell me that you do" and later on "Tell me that you love me true, tell me that you really do" the lyrics actually translate to the less singable lyrics "Lark, nice lark, Lark, I will pluck you." and "I will pluck your head. I will pluck your head. And your head! And your head!"
