Christmas With The Chipmunks Vol. 1 1962 Album Song Page Thumb
"Jingle Bells" is a Christmas classic. The song (renamed "Chipmunk Jingle Bells") was modified for the special A Chipmunk Christmas, sung by The Chipmunks, as well as the special's soundtrack, in which it's sung by The Chipmunks featuring Santa Claus, Angela, and Mrs. Waterford. The song also appears in its more classic version (with slightly rewritten lyrics) and name on many of the Christmas albums since Christmas with The Chipmunks listed below. The song was also released as a single in 1990. The song was later used in a promotion for the third CGI/live-action film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, with the addition of The Chipettes, and modified with completely original lyrics before being used as a promotion for the fourth CGI/live-action film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip under the title "Pizza Toots."

Classic Version

The Chipmunks:
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh! Hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh!

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way

Bells on bobtail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight! Oh!

Jingle bells, jingle jingle bells bells
Jingle jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh! Hey!

Hear them bells, them jingling bells
Jingle jingling all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh!

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fannie Bright
Was seated by my side

The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
He got into a drifted bank
And we, we got upset. Oh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh! Hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh!

Now the ground is white
Go it while you're young
Take the girls tonight
And sing this sleighing song

Just get a bob-tailed bay
Two-forty for his speed
Then hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack! You'll take the lead. Oh!

Jingle bells, jingle jingle bells bells
Jingle jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh! Hey!

Hear them bells, them jingling bells
Jingle jingling all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh!

A Chipmunk Christmas Special Song Page Thumb

The Chipmunks:
Dashing through the stores
On a chipmunk's skating board
Through the crowds we play

Alvin:
Shopping all the way

The Chipmunks:
Stockings hung with care
Soon Santa will be here
What fun it is to shop all day

Alvin:
When Dave is nowhere near

The Chipmunks:
Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Christmas time is here

A Chipmunk Christmas Soundtrack Song Page Thumb

The Chipmunks:
Dashing through the stores
On a chipmunk's skating board
Through the crowds we play
Shopping all the way

The reefs are hung with care
Soon Santa will be here
What fun it is to shop all day

Alvin:
When Dave is nowhere near

The Chipmunks:
Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Christmas time is here
Presents, lights, and happiness
That wondrous time of year

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Christmas time is here
It's so much fun to shop all day
Why can't it last all year?

There's so much here to choose
And not much time to lose
We've got to get back soon

Alvin:
My list will take 'til June!

And toys are so much fun!

Theodore:
The fudge is almost done, hehehe

Simon:
Just one more book and I'll be set

The Chipmunks:
We can't leave just quite yet

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Christmas time is here
Presents, lights, and happiness
That wondrous time of year

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Christmas time is here
It's so much fun to shop all day
Why can't it last all year?

Santa Claus:
The Chipmunks stopped outside a big department store display of harmonicas and the most beautiful of all was the Golden Echo Harmonica, just like Alvin's.
While Alvin was admiring the harmonica, he overheard Mrs. Waterford and her daughter Angela talking about Tommy, the new boy in school.

Angela:
Oh mother! Here it is, the Echo Harmonica.
The one Tommy's always wanted.

Mrs. Waterford:
Isn't it beautiful?
I wish we could get it for Tommy, but, honey, we can't afford any of these harmonicas.

Angela:
Oh, but mother, the doctor's said this might be Tommy's last Christmas.

Mrs. Waterford:
I know sweetheart, but there's nothing I can do.
We'll have enough trouble just paying the doctor bills.
We better be going home now Angela.

Angela:
Okay mother.

Santa Claus:
Alvin watched as they walked away, wondering what he could do to help.
Suddenly he remember he was later for the recording session.
The Chipmunks hurried over to meet Dave and begin recording "The Chipmunk Song," but Alvin was still thinking about Tommy and not the song.

Chipwrecked Promotional[]

The Chipmunks and The Chipettes:
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way

In a one-horse open sleigh!

The Road Chip Promotional[]

The Chipmunks:
Pizza on the brain
Three tummies rumblin'
Gotta get from lunch
All the way to din din

Ooey, gooey cheese
Crusty, crust so right
Feel sorry for the fool
Who's sleeping next to us, tonight

Oh, pizza toots, pizza toots
When Theo eats that much cheese
He just can't hold them in

Pizza toots, pizza toots
Ain't no fighting it
Might be loud
Might leave a cloud
But go on let it rip

Fill my tummy up
Give me extra cheese
Seconds if you please
It's like a symphony
Trombone, trumpet and flute
We toot in harmony
When we eat our favorite food

Pizza toots, pizza toots
When Simon eats that much wheat
He just can't hold them in
Pizza toots, pizza toots
Ain't no fighting it
Might be loud
Might leave a cloud
But go on let it rip
