Lyrics: Many songs preformed by The Chipmunks and The Chipettes are covers of other artists' songs that are commonly edited to remove profanity and inappropriate content (such as references to drugs). However, not every instance is removed in all songs as in "Men in Black" with the mention of crap and "Walk Like An Egyptian" with the mention of cigarette. Other songs contain lyrics that could be considered sexual in nature such as "Good Girls Don't," "Getting Lucky," "Come Get It," "Whip My Hair," and "I'm Too Sexy." Some dialogue such as that in "Made For Each Other" is flirtatious. Some songs have multiple versions in which one version might be more appropriate than the other version. While some cover lyrics might not be appropriate for younger ages, those for their original songs are generally suitable for all ages.
Videos: The groups only have a few official music videos. Some dance moves and clothing might be considered suggestive during their performances in the series or films. Performances in the series often occur with some kind of mischievous behavior happening at the same time.
